Dota 2 pro player Alexander “Flow” Sazonov sadly passed away on Wednesday after failing to overcome a long-running battle with cancer.
Flow appeared to be on the road to recovery earlier this year after undergoing a risky surgery, representing a number of up-and-coming teams after parting ways with FlyToMoon in November 2019.
However, after taking a break in August, Sazonov’s health appears to have deteriorated rather quickly.
Maincast’s Russian caster Vitalii Nikolaevich “v1lat” Volochai confirmed the news on Twitter, writing: “Rest in peace, Flow!”
Maincast later posted an official statement on the passing off Sazonov.
“Flow passed away this morning. The player has been fighting cancer for several years. Maincast Studio sends its condolences to the family and friends of Alexander,” the statement read.
